Do you remember where you were in 1987? I do. I was here. I lived here! I played tee ball here. I sold cotton candy here at the Joe W. Davis Stadium. And on this night in 1987, I was here at the Vaughn Brawn Civic Center. Wernher von Braun (1912–1977) was one of the most important rocket developers and champions of space exploration during the period between the 1930s and the 1970s. His life changed my town, my mom's life, a single mom, and my hometown forever. My dream job was to work modeling missiles, which I did. But the power that he harnessed was nothing like what was on display at the TNT Power Show. I still to this day look back to this video to remember when times were simpler for me at least.
The Super Stock 4x4 featured Brian Johns and USA 1, Ansin Sebastian and Nite Train, Jim MCGlone and Whip Lash, Irvin Johns and Color Me Gone, Buddy Jean and Night Life, Buddy Sprowl in Bluegrass Shaker, Aaron Mobley in Mad Dog, and Susan and Charlie Dutton. Brian Johns from Louisville Kentucky came out to be the victor on the night in his USA 1 Chevy. Brian ran a 1977 square body Chevrolet that he campaigned for 4 or 5 years on the TNT circuit.
So if you jump to the end you will see something that I would welcome anytime any day. People have told me that they don't like this puller or that puller cause they are too confident. In order to make a great show, you have to have a good guy and a bag guy. TV Shows mix it up because it causes one person to do work on their image from time to time and it can't always be the same person. This is the business. If you think your childhood hero was a bad boy, you obviously didn't see them hanging out with their buddies after the show. The end of this video features a man named Chris Holdorf from Winter Park Florida. Chris was one of the most outspoken pullers back in the day. And he let you know what was in his head. He always brightened up these shows with his infectious personality. We need more of this in pulling.
