I have spent over 15 years of my life in service to the United States as a contractor and a government civilian. I have created missile simulations, forensic tools, and administrative applications used across the nation and throughout the world. I have performed image analysis as well as image manipulation. I have replaced teams of contractors and thus streamlining the amount of work to be performed. I have utilized Six Sigma which is a technique that stresses the automation of as much work as humanly possible. I have written dozens of scripts to speed up what would otherwise take hours. I did a few websites for friends and family and the next thing I knew I have worked on a few dozen. A few of my sites garner a few thousand hits a year and this just to have a required presence. Others receive over a million visitors per year. The amount of files downloaded in some where in the 50 millions.
I specialize in websites, web hosting, graphic design, photography, and videography. My boss once said to me, "If I pay you to do something, you are a professional at it and that is what I expect!" While I agree with him that I do my very best day in and day out, I feel there are many that call themselves professional and sometimes I simply shake my head at their work. I have been the recipient of a half dozen on the spot cash awards, a feat seldom seen in government. I don't settle for ok, I want you to be tee-totally happy with the products and service you receive from me. If you are not for whatever reason, let's figure out what will work for you.
"How does one get involved in Tractor Pull?", I get this question all the time. I grew up in Athens, Alabama! Roll Tide! And if your know anything about Athens, Alabama, you know about my grandfather, Worley Holden, and the Haneys. The Haney family showed me horsepower in a whole new way. I first sat on Cujo when I was 4 or so. I remember going to Tanner, Alabama for the pull the Haney family put of for the football program there. A team I got a few catches in as a Wide Receiver and a utter whooping by us for my high school, Elkmont High School. I moved away to Grissom High School in Huntsville, Alabama and continued to play football, but alas that low on the depth chart, I lost all influence. Tractor Pulling was forever seared on my brain. I went on to get my education at John C. Calhoun Community College with Associates in Mathematics and General Education where I was also the part time teacher of the year, dubbed "Smokin' Will Whitt". Then it was a few more years at Athens State University for a Bachelors in Mathematics and Computer Science.
I went on the work for the Army, the Federal Bureau of Investigation , Health and Human Services, the Pension Benefit
Guaranty Corporation, and the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction. While working at SIGIR, I attended
the Prince William County Fair. I had no idea there would be a tractor pull there, let alone did they even do that kind
of stuff in Virginia. Boy was I wrong! I remembered the announcer, John Nicol's voice and would echo it to my kids
as we lined up our Lego Tractors and Sled. "EL Harlow, coming up on the RPM's...watch the Red Power." I, was
hooked. My youngest son thinks that tractors are the coolest. So I became his hero by building these Lego tractors and
playing with him all sprawled out on the floor. The week of April 20th, 2013, I placed a call to Dragon Motorsports and
asked a simple question. That question ended me on the phone with John Nicol. We talked for an hour or so, it seemed
like days. We met on April 20th and have been meeting up ever since at the pulls. I was asked to take photos and video
for some upcoming events. I have been told that my work is very smooth and crisp. Thanks, we are trying to do everything
in our power to promote this sport to as high as the power that be want to take this league. I have big ideas for this
really well back pulling league. I also host the Dragon Pulls website,
perform maintenance updating pages, events, and moderating the message board. I am so proud to be a sponsor of Dragon
and look forward to meeting you and working with you on whatever technical situation that has got you scratching your head.
